Principal Cloud Infrastructure Engineer I

Your Impact

You will play a critical role in implementing and developing of diverse public cloud initiatives (AWS, Azure, GCP).

As a Principal Cloud Engineer, you will work as part of a team on new technologies, alongside other colleagues as an individual contributor.

You’ll drive the architecture and work closely with the tech lead as an advisor. You will work closely with cloud vendors and their internal product teams.

You will also contribute as senior colleague with knowledge sharing and providing informal training to junior colleagues.

You’ll liaise with global technology leaders and teams to maintain consistency with wider McKinsey technology & experience. You’ll also liaise with Client Service Risk Committee and Risk teams to enable changes to policies and operating procedures.

In this role you’ll be responsible for building appropriate processes to enable consultants to work on both Europe and the global tech stack.

You will work with partners, consultants, operations leaders, global and local technology teams, technology vendors as a thought-partner and leader in delivering technology platforms that support exception client service & internal operations within our Prague office.

Your qualifications and skills

• 10+ years of experience in IT implementation and development
• Experience in Cloud infrastructure support and optimization strategies (AWS, Azure, AliCloud, etc.)
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and similar tools
• Experience in technology planning (good to have)
• Fluent in conducting business in English
• Experience in bridging communication across regions
• Strong capability in dealing with ambiguity, identifying options, permeating with path forward
• Highly collaborative, able to work with diverse teams in different functions and regions
• Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively and engage senior leadership at the firm in an effective way
