REDMI 17 Announced: 7,500 mAh Battery and 120Hz Display

Xiaomi has officially announced the REDMI 17, the latest model in its REDMI lineup. Featuring a large battery, a display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and a 50-megapixel main camera, the smartphone is positioned as an entry-level option focused on long battery life. Product documentation and technical information for the REDMI 17 have also been published on Xiaomi Türkiye’s official support pages.

7,500 mAh Battery

One of the standout features of the REDMI 17 is its 7,500 mAh battery. The phone supports 45W fast charging.

According to Xiaomi’s laboratory test results, the device can be fully charged in approximately 96 minutes. The company also states that the phone can provide up to two days of battery life under suitable usage conditions. Xiaomi notes that actual battery life may vary depending on factors such as usage habits, network conditions, and software version.

The REDMI 17 also supports up to 22.5W wired reverse charging**. This allows compatible devices such as wireless earbuds, smartwatches, or other smartphones to be charged directly from the REDMI 17.

6.9-Inch Display with Up to 120Hz Refresh Rate

The front of the smartphone features a 6.9-inch LCD display with a 1600 x 720-pixel HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz in supported applications.

The touch sampling rate can reach up to 240Hz, while the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7. Xiaomi Türkiye’s official support page also confirms these display specifications.

The screen has also received TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light, Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly certifications.

MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra Processor

The REDMI 17 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra processor, featuring an octa-core CPU paired with a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.

According to Xiaomi’s global product page, the smartphone is available with 4GB or 6GB of RAM, along with 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.

Xiaomi states that the 6GB RAM version can provide up to 12GB of total usable memory through its memory extension feature. However, this does not mean the device physically has 12GB of RAM. Instead, a portion of the phone’s internal storage is used as virtual memory.

The company also notes that RAM and storage configurations may vary depending on the market.

50-Megapixel Main Camera

The smartphone features a dual-camera system with a 50-megapixel main camera on the rear.

The REDMI 17 also supports a dual-video feature that allows the front and rear cameras to record simultaneously, as well as portrait mode.

Ships with HyperOS 3

The REDMI 17 comes with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 operating system.

The smartphone also supports the Xiaomi HyperIsland feature. However, Xiaomi notes that the availability of certain HyperOS features may vary depending on the software version, application, and region.

IP64 Certification

The REDMI 17 comes with an IP64 rating for dust and water splash resistance.

This certification does not mean that the smartphone is completely waterproof. Xiaomi explicitly advises users not to fully submerge the device in water.

The smartphone also includes Wet Touch technology, which is designed to make the display easier to use when the user’s fingers are wet or damp.

Stereo Speakers and RGB Notification Light

The phone features a dual stereo speaker system. Xiaomi also lists a 300% volume boost feature, designed to provide louder audio compared with the standard volume level.

A dynamic RGB light located on the back of the device can be used for charging status, camera activity, and certain notifications in supported games.

Users can choose between eight different lighting colors.
