Associate Software Development Engineer

Summary of the role;

As a Associate Software Development Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and testing of software solutions under the guidance of more experienced team members. You'll support the implementation of technical solutions based on user requirements, follow defined development standards, and assist in debugging and documenting your work. This role offers an opportunity to grow your technical skills while working on real-world projects in a collaborative and structured environment.

Common accountabilities;

• Works autonomously within defined processes and procedures or methodologies, takes standard decisions and may support the development of solutions to complex problems of a recurring nature.​
• Receives instruction, guidance and direction from more senior level roles or manager, with regular monitoring on the status of the assignments.​
• May have specialized formal education or the equivalent work experience and has the required technical and functional skills and basic knowledge of the business.

Specific accountabilities;

• Analyse Specifications: Define user requirements for the development of new (or upgrade of existing) software solutions.
• Design Systems and Code: Design technical solutions and perform feasibility studies.
• Propose viable technical solutions to Product Management and/or users for validation.
• Develop software according to Amadeus standards.
• Model, design and implement databases.
• Test and Maintain the Software: Conduct unit, package and performance tests and ensure a level of quality in line with the Amadeus guidelines.
• Participate in the validation phase of the product cycle, fine-tuning when necessary to finalize the product.
• Support the customer by debugging existing solutions in collaboration with Product Manager or Product Definition Analyst
• Document Your Work: Produce software documentation necessary for the application and issue it to the requesting departments.

About the ideal candidate;

• To succeed in Java Software Development Engineer role, you’re required to have relevant experience in the following areas;
• Java and Java Enterprise Edition Technologies, Spring or Hibernate frameworks,
• Knowledge of Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and multithreaded applications is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to research emerging technologies, adopt new methods, and drive innovation.
• Subject matter expert on knowledge of the complete software development lifecycle
• Advanced level of written and oral English communication skills
• Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
• Comfortable in a multi-cultural, international organization
• Proactive with a ‘can-do’ attitude
