Qualifications and Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support: Provide first-line technical support to end-users, both in-person and remotely, to resolve hardware and software issues. Troubleshoot and diagnose problems to ensure minimal downtime.

Hardware Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and other peripherals. Perform routine maintenance and upgrades as necessary.

Software Management: Install, update, and configure software applications and operating systems. Ensure that all software is licensed and up to date. Troubleshoot software-related issues.

Network Management: Set up and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs). Monitor network performance and security, and address connectivity issues.

Security: Implement and enforce security protocols, including firewall settings, antivirus software, and data encryption. Stay updated on security threats and take measures to protect the organization's data and systems.

Data Backup and Recovery: Regularly back up critical data and develop disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability in case of system failures or disasters.

User Training: Conduct training sessions to educate end-users on IT best practices, security protocols, and software usage.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, procedures, and configurations for reference and troubleshooting.

Vendor Management: Liaise with IT vendors and suppliers for procurement of hardware and software, and manage service contracts.

Project Participation: Collaborate on IT projects, such as system upgrades, network expansions, or the implementation of new technology solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (sometimes an associate's degree or relevant certifications may be sufficient).
• Relevant industry certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
• Proficiency in operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), networking protocols, and hardware components.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of IT security principles and practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn continuously in a rapidly evolving field.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
