As a Principal Software Engineer within McKinsey’s Tech Ecosystem, you will be at the forefront of our firm's larger initiatives. Your role will involve writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining application code using core technologies.

Your expertise will play a key role in solving complex technical challenges and shaping the evolution of our internal products and platforms. You'll stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends—whether in cloud, security, automation, or AI—and apply them to build robust, forward-looking solutions. Working closely with a global, cross-functional team, you’ll help drive innovation that enhances the way our people work and delivers tangible impact across the firm.

Your qualifications and skills

• Years of software development experience
• JavaScript/TypeScript and API design patterns (e.g., Golang, Elixir, Rust) is a plus
• AWS that are secure, scalable, and performant such as OAuth, SAML, and JWT (e.g., Postgres, Redis, DynamoDB)
• GenAI features (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone), and processing of structured/unstructured data
• CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployment workflows
